Applications actually have to add NC support. So it'll take a while before an 
app has NC support, at least until 10.8 comes out and then whatever time frame 
after that. 

If an app already supports Growl though, it's a really easy thing for them to 
simply drop in an updated framework. If you have an app that'll never be 
updated, you wouldn't be stuck completely either. :)
