We're pretty sure that this problem is resolved for Growl 2, we're running a beta now to get a decent level of testing on it. I've added about 150 people to the application beta list in order to get good coverage on the beta, and so far nobody has reported high cpu. We expect to have the release submitted to Apple as soon as testing and translation are completed. Translation starts tonight, and typically takes about 2 weeks, but will likely take less time due to the fact that we don't have that much difference in between Growl 1.4 and Growl 2 as far as translation, as compared to Growl 1.3.3 and Growl 1.4.
