I reinstalled 2.0 (I had reverted to 1.2 out of frustration) and got through your maze.
I'm sorry to say this, but as an old-school Mac developer, this interface blows. The old interface was more straightforward. You select the app, configure, click Notifications, select the sound to play. Notice everything is in one direction. >From the default configuration when I select SoundAction, nothing happens. I was expecting a sheet or something to pop up. The whole interface is also confusing because SoundAction doesn't say what sound it will play or that it has to be set. Also, you can't have more than one sound it seems. A more intelligible way to label this (if you wanted to keep this poor interface) would be to call it PlayDefaultSound. This would clue in the user that to play a different sound he needs to make another 'Action' like 'PlayMyUhohSound' which could then be created in the 'Displays' tab (although, again, this is confusing because why would 'Actions' be in the 'Displays' tab?) The whole thing needs a rethink. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Growl Discuss" group.
