Hello, so Growl relies on other apps sending data to us, for a fair sized list of apps that support us, you can look here: http://growl.info/applications. Some app's require configuration or additional plugins to talk to Growl, and we have a selection of popular apps and how to get them working here: http://growl.info/documentation/appconfigs. Apps register to Growl, usually on launch or the first time they want to send us something, so in some cases simply relaunching, or having something they notify for happen will cause them to start working. The extras are apps and other things we have written which talk to Growl or can help us diagnose issues with other apps.
