I don't remember anyone reporting any issues. So if you didn't then I don't
know that it would be different. We in no way support .7.6 and frankly I
doubt anyone is even running it unless they absolutely have to. You are
likely the last holdout. :)

In other words, nobody will likely be able to confirm what you're asking.

You can follow the steps here to remove Growl. You may need to follow the
manual steps:
