The registrations are in a database now, effectively. An application does,
as Yann says, usually re-register if it supports Growl correctly. Why did
you delete the registration, out of curiosity?

I bet what it is, is that Firefox used to support Growl until they decided
to make their own notifications. Any plugin that supported the
notifications within Firefox would show up in Growl. Now that Firefox no
longer supports Growl, this is gone.
