Ai dat un exemplu foarte bun aici: sint aproape 4 ani de cind Oracle a
cumparat Sleepycat, totusi Berkeley DB continua sa existe, se dezvolta
si a ramas tot libera.
Lasa-ma sa citez si eu de la ei de pe site, daca asta nu e
functionalitate "enterrpise", nu stiu ce sa zic ca este:
"NEW IN RELEASE 4.8
* Increased Performance—improved concurrency for multi-threaded
applications on SMP systems
* New db_sql tool—automatic generation of Berkeley DB application
code from SQL for faster development and migration"
Cu InnoDB e acealsi lucru, se afla la Oracle de peste 4 ani, dezvoltarea
continua, licenta GPL nu a disparut.
