I know the grip you mean :P Thats what i ended up doing was whacking 
the king size flat-head srewdriver the filter to get the mofo off ;)
Just tigthened up by hand with a few extra turns and all is sweet.
Another thing i'll reccomend is Motul 15w50 Power shuts those lifters 
right up !!!! Cheers guys.

right off by hand. It's funny though, I bought a special tool to get 
them off (one that actually works after trying so many different 
types) but come oil change time I can never find it and end up having
