Hi Wojtek,

It sounds like you have not actually yet successfully connected your 
jobmanager-pbs with the PBS batch queueing system of your setup.You should 
recheck the steps in the install guide, paying attention to making sure that 
app PBS environmental variables are available at the time of installation and 
to globus installation in the environment of the GRAM job manager when it runs.

Your example of submitting to the fork job manager is doing what one would 
expect: the fork job manager runs on the gatekeeper node, not on worker nodes, 
so it will return the results you mention, assuming that a.out returns the 
hostname.  If you want the jobs to run in batch on worker nodes via PBS, you 
will need to submit to jobmanager-pbs.
