Maybe this is not what you wanted to hear, but the GTD system isn't
really designed for tracking the past. The whole point of GTD is to
minimize the need to remember what you are supposed to do in the
future, so you can concentrate on getting things done in the present
(disclaimer: I don't really know anything; so go read the book!).

If something isn't likely to be forgotten, then I don't use the mGSD
system to track it. For example, I don't have a tickler for brushing
my teeth; I just do it.

There are lots of good reasons for tracking things you have already
done, but mGSD is not really set up for that. I would use a Google
spreadsheet instead.

However one idea is that you could use the notes field of the tickler
to list the history of how you handled the tickler. But you'll have
to remember to edit it properly each time. You could also just store
the URL to your Google spreadsheet in the tickler's notes.

Hope that helps,
Jason
