I am experiencing these symptoms with ubuntu 10.04, gtg .2.4. Is there a way to see debug info from the connection attempt?

Status in Getting Things GNOME!: Invalid Bug description: Updated GTG Dec 13, to the latest version released for Ubuntu. RTM plug-in is finally showing up. When I click to sync there is a message saying "Trying to access, please stand by". Sometimes after this box comes up I'm taken to RTM page to give API access to GTG. But even doing so I ALWAYS get a message "Couldn't connect to Remember the Milk".
