Somewhere along the way the syntactic and semantic features of the API have
to really and truly be frozen, no matter how trivial the proposed changes
are. If the API keeps creeping, some (many? most? a few?) people with
applications to write or port will keep deferring those activities,
perceiving the API to be unstable. This only hurts Gtk.
