Hallo,
I want to create a gtk application with the following behaviour:
The main window contains a set of buttons and work area with
fixed layout.
Work area should contain a number of other possibly overlapping
windows (with frame and title). These windows should be modal
(actually they are arranged as stack and only top-level window
can be active). But the buttons from the main window (global
buttons) should still be usable.
I tried to do that using frames, but in this case when the subwindows
overlap the contents of the lower level windows are still visible in
the area occupied by the upper level window.
When I create the embedded windows as toplevels, they cannot be placed
inside the work area of the main window an if I declare them modal the
main window buttons are not accessible.
Is it possible to implement the described behaviour using gtk+? If yes
what do I miss?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
