Correct. I guess you could play with paths etc to have 2 installations
co-exist. To answer what you're implying ( or what I think you are ), yes
it would be good to have *just* the gtk stuff that you could drop into an
existing Strawberry Perl installation, but that would be difficult at this
point. The installation process included removing quite a few pieces of
Strawberry Perl and rebuilding them. I could use a diff tool to figure out
what's changed from a 'base' installation and try to package things from
there, but it's not clear what effect these rebuilt components would have
on things other people might be using. Anyway, I'm open to suggests etc.
I'm in the process of setting up a wiki detailing the build instructions.
Then I'll submit patches to try to reduce the size of the wiki & complexity
of the installation process. If there is enough interest, I guess 'we' can
work on packaging just the gtk components. Let's see how many users there
are. That's one good thing about hosting the download - I can see how many
downloads there are ( unlike cpan for example ).
