Yes, Gtk# stable should run on mono-1.1.x, especially since we're recommending people switch to mono 1.1.x. I can't reproduce this on my suse92 amd64 box with mono 1.1.5, Gtk# 1.0.8, and Gtk+ 2.4. What platform is this. What OS? What version of Gtk+? Are you building from source or using packages?
