I am experiencing identical behavior (null ptr exception in Autoconnect()) with mono 1.1.5. As a bonus, I am also unable to catch this exception! The trace statements put it square in the middle of a try/catch block, and I recieve the "unhandled exception" message even if I add a catch-all block at the end. Very odd.
