This is probably not something that affects GTK# alone; it could be
something to bug gtk to add :), or adding another library to the mono
stack.
I'm thinking about writing games for toddlers or kids, and would like to
use GTK# and Mono; however, there is no sound support. I could get SDL
or something like that, but that would add more dependencies and
complexity.
I think many apps today use sound and some simple functions would make
sense. Just a simple API with limited capabilities. Win32 has Play, that
plays a .wav, and wxWidgets has wxSound.

I've read opinions saying sound doesn't belong in gtk, but I
respectfully disagree.
