On my '94 GTS, the original owner had a couple of side bagd, mounted with
straps over the side panels on the rear. This has damaged the paint and also
cracked the side panels. This guy repaired them with epoxy, and it seems to
hold just fine. The paint job I treated with cleanser and they look fine
now. I can't imagine the front fender breaking up spontaneously, so you must
have hit something. With my previous bike I hit a bird and that messed the
front of the bike up just fine and it was only a small bird while I was
doing about 55 Mph. I had that repaired with polyester and that worked out
fine (not for the bird)
