Well, I do have impact tools, so that should not be a problem.  I guess it
is time to read the manual again about clutch inspection.

If your clutch is the problem, you'd probably hear more noise in neutral
with the clutch out. Yes, I changed the clutch plates on my GTS in about two
hours. Removing the basket though is a bit more difficult because it usually
requires an impact wrench to remove the nut holding the basket in place.

Bob, my clutch has been feeling a little mushy, and seems to engage somewhat
farther into the lever travel.  Are there any other symptoms ?  Can a clutch
be changed by a home mechanic ?  I do have the service manual.
