I have Scottoiler and Reservoir - good in principle - but lacking in
practice
Problem - with age oil was not drawn over from the number plate
reservoir (intermittent problem) - small leaks probably at fault -
rubber insert to valve also fits less well after a while (it has to be
withdrawn to prime valve chamber). Scottoil have been good in replacing
parts - but discovering that you've driven 1000s of miles with little
lubrication at times is very irritating. I font particulalry want to
carry spare oil - but dumping the number plate reservoir seems to be the
only long term solution. If you cant get replacement rubbers quickly -
Scottoil suggests inserting a cut length of that black hard plastic
tubing that they supply, into the small hole of the rubber bung, may
help as it "spreads out" the bung in the hole - (brings tears to your
eyes though).
But whats the alternative??? If you buy a chain driven bike you have to
both put up AND shut up!
