The comparisons crossed my mind when I was writing my earlier response.
Dale had a failed seatbelt--still debatable whether it was defective in
manufacture (Simpson says no) or in installation.  But it explains why an
accident that really didn't look bad at all turned out to be fatal.  More
advise to buckle up.
