I've just re-joined the list after a few months where I was too busy to pay proper
attention.

FZR1000 and GTS rear sprockets are interchangeable. I had new chain/sprocks fitted
just before Christmas, a 532 type as Yamaha in the UK have reduced their prices so
that it is competitive with a 530 conversion.
I went for a 45-tooth alloy sprocket on the back even though most of my riding is
urban. I don't regret it at all, it makes the bike seem a lot less frantic and you
can use the "elastic" throttle response of the EFI from lower speeds. In fact I think
you could go 44 teeth with no loss of real-world (as opposed to magazine test/drag
strip) performance.
