When I did it back in 1993 Steve gave us our maps about five minutes before the start, and I quickly marked it up with a highlighter and took off. He also had a rule that if you came in even one minute over 24 hours you lost ALL your points, which caused me to ride the last hour or so at well over 100 mph. Considering how tired I was, and how this was at dawn when the deer were wandering around looking for breakfast, it was a bit foolhardy. We had over 90 participants that year, I am pretty hazy on the details but I remember I rode a little over 1200 miles on my Concours, and I think I came in 16th. I checked out the website, and I see you were one of the top finishers last year. If I come to cheer people on (and I anticipate doing so) I will dig out the old belt buckle Steve gave us back in 93. I also sent an email to Steve congratulating him on still running that thing, which must take months of hard work every year, and volunteering to help out. You can also count me in on the gift. -- ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +Chase Kimball ([EMAIL PROTECTED]), nom de Plum "Lord Brancaster" aka +"Hannibal" in the Quake Clan "Zero Tolerance."
