Well, Carlos, you are in luck. Due to the high number of people that had
ABS problems on their GTS, members of the list started a campaign to get
Yamaha to somehow fix the ABS problem. There is a little-known program
within Yamaha that will provide parts and labor to replace your ABS pump at
no cost to you. I do not have the specific docs and people to contact, but
I think Kevin Hawkins or some ot the other guys can point you in the right
direction. You may get some run-around from your dealer, but most if not
all the expense will be paid by Yamaha.

Hi I'm a first timer. It's nice to find some GTS people on the web. I'm
sure you guys are a wealth of information. Maybe some one can help me with a
problem I'm having with my GTS. The bikes a 93 that I purchased it new in
95. After a few months the back brake started loosing pressure and I would
get air in the line but no fluid leaking. So I have lived with this little
pain for a long time. I got the BS runaround from the dealer because it
wouldn't do it all the time. They changed the master cylinder, bleed the
lines, change fluid. But now I can't go riding a day or two and the rear
brake is down to nothing. I'm petty sure it's the HYDRAULIC ABS BRAKE PUMP
$1500.00. I did find a guy that shows how to rebuild one on the web but I
think it's too much for me. My question is how common is this? If I 'm
going to buy it where can I get it cheaper? Who at Yamaha can I send a nice
letter too? I enjoy my bike and will never sell it. I have a lot of extra
stuff on it.
