Carlos..........
You did not mention if your ABS was functional or not. I have plenty of
experience with the ABS unit and the whole procedure of getting it replaced
but the symptoms you are describing is not why they were being replaced. The
ABS has to become inoperative for them to replace it. As you have seen, a
couple others have experienced similar symptoms to yours, however, replacing
the Hydraulic Unit, which is what they would do if your ABS was inop, would
not resolve the issue. The question is then, when you have proper hydraulic
pressure at the brake pedal, will your rear brake go into ABS mode or will it
skid the rear wheel? If it skids the rear wheel, then you are a candidate for
a HU replacement. If it ABS's, you are not. (I created a new word there I
think) If it skids, take it to your local dealer and have them contact their
Regional Technical Advisor about getting the HU replaced as a Customer
Relations Gesture. Jordan Cavanaugh was the CR rep in California that was
handling these cases, however, you should not need to contact him. If the
RTA's do not handle it directly themselves, they can contact Jordan for
confirmation. Again, if you are ABSing.... please provide more detailed
information about the problem. Are you bleeding the rear caliper and getting
air out every two to three days? Had some other work been recently performed
on the rear brake system? We would like to help you but need more hard data
than just "knowing it is in the HU that is causing the problem."
