Fred (and listers),

I'm assuming Adam's point was what we call "tongue in cheek", which
essentially means it was intended in a humorous sort of way.  That was how
I took it anyway.

Most of us Americans are very impressed with the ability of folks, like
you, who can actually communicate with us.  I for one recognize the
serious limitations of most Americans (including me) in learning other
languages.  Face it--we're pretty lazy when you get right down to it.  I
think Adam was only trying to make fun of that fact.

The Dutch words are welcome on the list!  Some of may learn a thing or
two.
