Ride height which can be affected by srping preload and/or spring sag also
affects peg height. I respect your right to hold your opinion that the pegs
are low and will scrape during mild cornering, but I hold the opposite
oppinion. I rarely scrape my pegs and corner what I consider to be a bit more
spirited than mild. Interestingly enough, my brother in law on his GTS
scrapes his all the time, and we are as close in speed as two people can be.
There is one difference between our bikes, and it is not the tires. For
reasons yet to be determined, his swing arm is up higher than mine. We
compared it to every other GTS at the GTS gathering we had in Blairsville a
few years ago and his was noticably higher than any one elses. We suspect a
shock problem, but have not bothered to investigate as of yet. I am not
denying the pegs can be touched down on a GTS, they can. I just don't think
it is accurate to consider that mild cornering. Eddie Lawson or Randy Mamola
may consider it mild, and you may be in that category. If you are, you are in
the vast minority of GTS riders. I would think that if you are in that
category, you probably own a bike with a more generous lean angle, say......
oh and R-1 with 56 degrees lean angle? nuff said.
