That's a pretty harsh assessment of the dog,
considering he's not the one toying with the purchase
or an early '70's Italian bike with sidecar. ;-)
Seriously, I've also been considering an Eldo or
Ambassador for city riding, primarily because the
vintage BMW's I like are ridiculously over-priced.
I have heard from previous Guzzi owners that they are
bulletproof bikes in terms of longevity, but the
maintenance burden (valves, carbs, electricals, etc.)
is about what you would have to expect with an older
Italian machine.
If you do get it, I would be very interested to hear
your observations off-list.
