Agreed , but the profile changes for the rear tyre ,
ie : wider tyre = bigger tyre dia = more rounded profile = less contact
patch = less grip ( although the rider may not notice it ).
It's caused by a wider tyre being fitted to a rim width that hasn't changed.
As for the front it's a bit different , the narrower tyre increases the dia
,
it makes the tyre profile / radius tighter , but the contact patch increases
due to the height ratio allowing the tyre to flex more when cornering , so
increasing grip.
Also the 130/60 tyre over hangs the rim which may give the impression that
the tyre has a more rounded profile than a 120/70.
That's what i think happens , but i could be wrong .
