Grant, he is talking about the safety inspection sticker and the personal
property tax sticker. Maybe a parking sticker too. Any local or state
police in VA would be concerned with the inspection sticker, but the
personal property might only concern the local county police. Not sure if
the state cares about it. Not having the PP sticker is a big fine.
Personal Property tax is a hot issue in VA, the current governer won his
election (beating the incumbent) almost solely on the platform of elimiating
the PP tax. But his multi-year phaseout is running into trouble.
On your GTS, you would probably spend about $175-250 a year on PP, and that
is on top of the yearly inspection fee and license fees. I am not sure what
the current rates are for PP for motor vehicles, but I used to do the
programming for PP and Real Estate taxes for Alexandria about 15 years ago.
We regularly sent out PP bills for $750-1500 for Mercedes, Rolls, Porche
etc.
Maryland does not have any of that b.s., we just have higher real estate
taxes !!

Again, this sticker Bull*&% seems overkill to me.
No offense Ken, but if you are from out of state, the cop should be able to
read
your plate. Besides, aren't they or shouldn't they be interested in the
fact that
you actually have a plate first, then go looking for the silly stickers.
Grant Gall - thanking our political leaders that they have not thought of
this
here.
