I had a 120/70 MEZ4 on the front and I didn't like it. Still have the 180/55 MEZ4 on
the back. The front felt "squashy" at low speeds, which made the bike steer
strangely. One other lister ("Hawke"?) also objected strongly to the MEZ4, as I
recall. When the front got a puncture I was glad to replace it with a 120/60 Conti,
which has a little bit of the "squashy" character but is overall much better. Neither
front nor back Metz seems at all happy at low ambient temperatures (<5 deg. C), I had
some dramatic slides - they need a lot of warming up.

I'd say that a 170/60 would probably be more than enough for the back. I don't do
enough high-speed miles to comment much on wear rates, but the compound seems quite
soft/sticky once warm so I wouldn't expect big touring mileage.
