Roger,
I've wanted to go with these guys the last few years but haven't been able
to go. Have heard some pretty tall tales about the hotel up there that has
last call at 4am and is almost on the US-CAN border. It looks like about a
900 mile ride and we'll doing it in 1 day (Friday). Take a day off and then
come back on Sunday.
We actually consider it a warm-up ride for the Alberta 2000 (2000kms in
24hrs) on the following weekend. I've volunteered to create the spreadsheet
which keeps track of the riders, their mileage, times, and scores so that
next year I can ride it for my first time and have a good understanding of
the rules. It's a very good rally that requires the riders to always be
thinking in order to collect the most points - not just ride fast. Safety is
important.
I see that you are in Oregon which isn't too far away. You (and of coarse
any of the other listers) are welcome to join us for any of these rides.
The majority of the guys I ride with from the BMW club don't ride beemers,
and are very good riders. It's always allot of fun.
Regards
GWN
