I agree with Grant on this one. I like the British system, where you
really have to get some experience before they put you on anything
substantial. In teaching new riders at MSF, this year the most popular
bike for under-25 new riders with no experience has been the R-6 hands
down, about half my newbie students have shown up for the class already on
that particular bike. This may be in part the encouragement of the local
Yammie dealer, who's very happy to sell a bike like this to a newbie but
at least has the sense to send them to us for training.
