I made my reservation for the Nordic Inn, Twin Lakes Colorado for the
nights of August 13 and 14. All on the list are welcome to join us, and
if you want reservations at the same place, call them at 1-800-626-7812.
They have rooms with shared bathrooms, or private, prices cheaper if ya
share, and it really does work out OK. All beds are true feather beds, so
when you say you get "in" bed, you really do, not "on" bed. Mention the
GTS group, they expect us.
They have a website at www.twinlakesnordicinn.com that has links to the
Leadville and Twin Lakes area. That link also has other hotels in the
area for anyone wanting other accommodations.
I'd guess that anyone wanting to join up can plan for a few days of riding
in the area, and evenings of revelry at the Inn. Food in their German
restaurant is decent, bar is fine. Day trips to places like Steamboat
Springs, Aspen (watch out for the Aspen-holes though), etc. are easy.
This is a chance to cross the Continental Divide a record number of times
in 24 hours......hmmmmmmmmm.
I'm leaving here (Las Cruces NM) with one other rider on Sunday morning,
we'll do a leisurely tour to get there by Monday afternoon. Anyone
wanting to connect up with us on the way is welcome, contact me and we'll
figure out logistics. It's probable that more folks from here will also
come along, but I've not confirmed their interest as of yet.
Hope to see multiple GTSs in this little burg for a few nights.
