In my Yamaha service manual, p/n lit-11616-08-78, in section 3, pp.58-60, it
details the chain adjustment procedure. Slack is 10~20 mm. One important note
that is easilly overlooked if you are not used to the GTS, you must loosen
the bolt that anchors the rear brake caliper bracket. If this bolt is not
loosened before attempting to turn the adjuster bolts, the axle will not move
smoothly and easilly like it should. Some other points, torque on the
locknuts is 11 ft lbs, Axle Nut torque is 110 ft lbs, brake caliper bracket
bolt is 35 ft lbs.
