>I am interested in knowing if anyone who has replaced >the front brake pads
on the GTS noticed any difference >in brake lever travel.
The difference i get when changing pads is the front lever gets alot better
( firm lever ) , but this only lasts for a month or so then the lever starts
to go soft again .
>Also, has anyone replaced the seals in the front caliper >and noticed a
difference? That is the direction I am >thinking in, replacing the seals for
the pistons.
There's what i sent to the list some time ago .
On my GTS i had a problem ,the brakes seemed to take in air, the lever would
pull right back to the bar .
If i bled the brake, one or two weeks later the lever would be soft again .
The cause was worn caliper seals which would grab the pistons when the brake
was applied and pull them further back into the caliper body , which would
then mean the lever had to be pulled back further before the pads would
contact the disc , felt like air in the system.
My old seals looked ok , but when i changed them the brake was back to
normal .
