Mailing lists only work as long as people are prepared to accept that it's a *discussion* not a *competition* - there's no "winner", and the person who shouts loudest proves nothing. Say your piece, and then leave it - if there's any merit in what you're saying, then that will be apparent to reasonably intelligent people anyway.
