Hey shorty. (I'm 5'9", LOL!)

Anyway....you are a point that requires a decision before you can
correct it. You must either have your head in the windstream or
completely out of the windstream.

If you don't want bugs and rain and rocks and birds (thats another
story...) and so forth to ever touch your head (helmet), then several of
the folks have gone with a ClearView screen with 6+ inches over stock
height. But it will change the looks of the bike and increase to a small
amount, wind resistance.

My choice was to go the other way. I took a Lockhart screen, stock
height, and cut it down about 3"s or so. It looks cool, leaves the
helmet to deal with the wind (MUCH quieter than stock), and decreases
wind resistance. (Goes faster, besides, it's a 93'. ;^)

I don't get many bugs, and rain, though seldom, runs off with the wind
pressure. It's really a personal choice, but you are right, the stock
windshield leaves much to be desired. It is NOISY as all get out,
buffets the fool out of your head, and only works for folks of a certain
height. (5'10 + it would seem...)

We all have some pic's we can send you if you would like, but I
recommend that the real test would be out on the bike. In a clear area,
moving around 50 to 60 mph, stand up on the pegs to see what it is like
out in the airstream. Then crouch down close to the tank to see and
'hear' what it would be like with the high windshield. Then pick. :^)

And just for laughs...er, scientific data collection purposes,
ahem...let us know what you decide on and why!

Cheers,

Brandon
