In-line-4's can pull all over the place. My CBR929RR pulls from 3000 to
about 11000 rpms.

I agree. It's completely different going from my GTS
to the SV650. The SV just grunts ahead, whilel the
gts doesn't start to dance until 7000. By 8000 the
max on the sv is about gone.
Dont even get me started on my old harley--4000 rpm
and you worried a piston was coming up through the
seat.
