Yamaha chooses to limit the range of viscosity its oils cover for one main reason. An oil has to have modifiers added to it to make it meet the specs of multiple viscosities. Yamaha feels that the advantages of extending the viscosity range are negated by the use of the additional modifiers. In warm weather, you should not need any oil that has a viscosity of 10. RSRBOB
