Well hello guys!

I'm a new subscriber, don't currently own a GTS but I am here to learn about
them before I splurge and pick one up.

I currently own a 1987 Yamaha FJ1200, Corbin, Ohlins rear, emulators front,
lockhart windshield, tankbra and a matching tankbag. Very nice condition
and plenty of spare parts. I love this bike, it was properly maintained by
the previous owner, GTSBob Johnson (are you here Bob?).

He was the one that first showed me (with pictures, his was in the shop) the
GTS and since then the thought has been around that I should buy one.

Now to the questions;

When I buy one, it seems I only have a choice of the 93s or 94s, I presume
they were only imported for those years.. What are the chances of getting
something later than that? (that someone imported?)

What are the major troublespots? I know the FJs had ABS problems, but I am
more nervous about the high dollar items, computer, ABS, fuel injection etc,
do those act up more than they should and what's the price to fix? Is this
an easy bike to work on myself? (other than the weight.. hehe).

Is that singlesided front swingarm just a good looking thing or does it
actually work well? What about maintenance on it?

What modifications are 'necessary'? shocks? Headlight relays, etc? Is that
something I should look for in one?

What about mileage? SHould I pay for the low mileage ones (if ABS works) or
can I save money on one with more miles on it? I've seen them as low as 10K
miles..

Reason I have all these questions is partly because I've seen a couple of
good (seemingly) bikes in other states, I would hate to fly out to realize
it's a POS and has problems, it would have to reliably ride back to Los
Angeles. :)
