Yep, this is the same issue I had during priming! John and I had opening
discussed it on the list and he's since made "official" changes in his
installation instructions. RTFI  :^) Enjoy your trip Mike!

  We are all the same?   I don't think any of us read the directions before
installing anything....:>)

priming operation 1) Remove the suction line from the pump. Squeeze the
plastic bottle with a finger on vent hole to force oil into the suction
line
up to the pump. It will prime much faster the first time with a little oil
in the pump and air out of the suction line.

Have a great ride and don't get caught in any forest fires.  The oiler
doesn't work for shit when it's on fire and it voids the warranty.
