I just got my first GTS a couple of weeks ago, I joined this list a hair
before that.
I thought the FJ was a big stable superbike, but like you said, the GTS
blows it out of the water, the brakes are flat out amazing, the engine..
well, the stock one felt a little flat (only got to testride one) the bike I
bought has a souped up FZR1000 engine, 1040 Wiseco kit and carbs.
Endresult is something that blows the FJ1200s 100+HP away with 137HP at the
rearwheel, granted, that is way up at the rev range, but even at 6K it picks
up the front wheel quite easily, almost scared me the first time I hopped on
it, it's a heavy bike so I didn't think it would be that strong.
It runs a little rich but I haven't checked the plugs on it yet, it might
have to run rich if it leans out at higher revs. We'll see. The one bummer
is that I only get little shy of 200miles per tank, and that's with the neck
cut out so I get well over 5gallons in there.
Call me nuts, but it seems to use less if I keep the revs at atleast 5K,
maybe it does lean out and run better.. who knows.
Sad part is that the FJ has been sitting, as has the HOnda and Suzuki... oh
well.
