Scot,
A number of us the list have had problems with Corbin, but there are two
schools of thought on this one. The most common is that Corbin fit and
finish is not what it used to be, and not up to standard. In addition,
many on the list have complained that the service level is not especially
good, and that when problems arise the folks at Corbin seem to not much
care.
In the interest of a balanced overview, there are still some who have been
exceptionally pleased with the product and their service. But more seem
negative than positive. There's also a general opinion by many that the
folks at Corbin have heard the complaints and are starting to get their
act back together.
I, for one, am not especially pleased with the amount of effort it took
just to get my Corbin to the point that it would actually go on the bike,
good fit or bad (it's still bad). I also feel that the leather is not
worth it and would never do that again. The grey leather on mine has been
fading at different rates on different pieces of leather, and looks a bit
funky at this point.
I, howver, am thrilled with the backrest for two-up riding. The pillion
ALWAYS is happy to have that little item in place. That's the biggest
plus.
There's my take on an overview, hope it's reasonably balanced to what has
been list consensus over the last few years.
