I had trouble with the fit and finish also.  Fit--if
you look @ the stock seat there is substantial
clearance between the bottom edge of the seat and the
side covers.  In an effort to "improve" the look
Corbin extends the seat in this area to close the gap.
 Mine was too close--broke the front screw hole on one
side.  I don't really like "warranty" work so I
trimmed the edge .25" myself per Pat's instructions
and it now works wonderfully.  The seat is still a
tight fit but it's the seat stops that contact
now--not the plastic.  My stock seat had some play in
it and the big gap--Corbin fits much better NOW!
Finish--It seems to be holding up OK, mostly just
stretched too tight here and there causing a couple
minor splits in the fabric; easily fixed but a little
ugly and annoying...
Still very happy with the comfort added and HAD to
have the backrest before the GIVI's...
