Looks like my last message went through. Here are some of my thoughts. Sorry some of
them are old, I have been unable to get the messages to send.

I purchased one of the blue (those are the fast ones?) GTS 3 months ago. Love the
bike. Mine does not surge, although it is pretty abrupt right a throttle beginning.
It is very easy to get up on the center stand. I have not noticed excessive oil
consumption. I read a study of oil viscosity breakdown, here is the link
http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/oiltest1.htm. All oils were not tested, but Mobile
1 came out on top. I have switched to Mobile 1, with no indication of clutch
problems. Got it at WalMart for $15.00 for 5 quart container. I also examined
Walmart oil filters (I am very picky about oil filters) and they are surprisingly well
constructed although not as tall as OEM and only $1.98. I am using one on the GTS
right now. Since I do not leave the filter on for 2 oil changes I think the filter
will be fine. I have a set of Bridgestone 020 tires to put on. I am trying to decide
if I want to tackle the job. I will keep the group posted about my impressions.
120/70 front and 170/60 rear. J.C. Whittney has two bead breakers. A small one for
about $35.00 and a very large stand one for $68.00. Both are much more reasonable
than the ones suggested by the group. If I try it I may just use a big C clamp. Any
one try the C clamp to break the bead? Sorry to ramble here. I have 3 months of
thoughts in my head that I have been unable to send. ARE THERE ANY GTS OWNERS IN
DENVER COLORADO? I would like to meet you if you exist. I missed the ride to Twin
Lakes due to job training.

Over and out finally,

Glenn Martin
