Ummm...sort of. I can't speak to moving, ahh.....horizontal traveling.
:^)

Actually, if the bike simply tips over, not moving, on flat ground, the
damage is very minimal, in fact, cosmetic only. The mirror pops off,
(may suffer small scratches on the very end, easily covered with some
'touchup paint, or im my case, mirror bras!), and the knee cushion and
forward footpeg will hold the rest of the bike off the ground. I know,
I've done it. Sigh.....

Oh, and sometimes, depending on the side, the little 'psuedo-chrome'
cover over the swing-arm pivots may get crushed. The first time that
happened I was a bit steamed, but in retrospect, it saved other, more
expensive parts from getting damaged. I think it was under $20 U.S. to
replace. Pretty cheap, considering the alternatives.

And, and this my IMHO, I believe it was designed this way on purpose.
Ask any sportbike owner what it will cost him/her to for a 'tip-over'.
$200 to $800 a whack. Ouch!

And that's my 2 cents for the day!
