Unfortunately (with head hanging down) I've gone down on both sides. They
are both expensive, and even if you don't get hurt you feel like loosing
your lunch when you see the damage to the bike.
Recently a buddy of mine lent his ST1100 to a friend for a test ride and the
guy went down at about 60 kms/hr. He said all that got damaged was the
little plastic wing on the lower fairing (anti-tip over devices from the
Gods) and some scratches on the bags which he polished out. I have heard
good things about how well designed some other bikes are when they go down,
and the GTS is definitely NOT one of them! And no matter how positive you
think and how hard you try, there's still a chance of your bike falling
over, and you darned well know that your friendly insurance company won't
make it easy on you to bring it back to the way it was. So I too have been
contemplating having something made that will help protect my investment
should it fall. I would be interested to hear what constructive ideas you
guys have.

Phew... I knew the GTS list was an exclusive club.
But such a diverse group of riders that never made a mistake would really
suprise me.
So, if you've seen my damage photos.
Tell me this. Which side is better to crash on?
Besides the obvious answer...don't crash.
