Thanks. The number of people who have been personally touched by this tragedy
down here in Charlottesville is staggering. One of my students' father works in
the Pentagon, and she has no way of knowing if he is Ok. Friends of mine used
to live near, and now have friends near the World Trade Center.
It's not even that someone *tried* to do this that is shocking. The human
capacity for mindless violence seems limitless. It's that they *succeeded* that
is so frightening.
