Perhaps your rear wheel alignment is off slightly ?

Subject: Trip Report

I finally got to use the GTS for a small weekend trip. Mona and I loaded up
on Friday and took off to a little place just north of Greenbank, WV called
Boyer Station. It has a restaurant, campground and small motel. We met two
other couples there and spent the weekend.

It took us a couple of hours to travel the 144 miles from the house to Boyer
Station and the bike was flawless. The bags were loaded with clothes, food
and maybe, something to drink. The owner allows us to park our bikes under
one of the pavillions were we had plenty of room to spread out the many
types of food we brought and possibly, something to drink. We didn't party
too long but enough to relax, eat and maybe, get something to drink.

Saturday morning was bright and clear, a perfect WV morning. After a huge
breakfast of TWO slabs of country ham, eggs, gravy and biscuts, coffee and
fresh tomatoes, ($11.00 for two) Mona and I and one of the other couples
decided to ride on to Canaan Valley Resort. The ride was twisty,
mountainous and beautiful but not much going on at the resort this time of
year, (getting ready for the fall colors and skiing later) so we rode on up
to Davis, WV where they were having a street festival. We spent the day just
relaxing and riding the mountain roads. Got back to Boyer in time for a very
late lunch (or early dinner) and a nap. A little later, and the same as the
night before, we spread out the snacks and maybe, had a little something to
drink.

Sunday morning was again beautiful and, after another huge breakfast, we
loaded up and drove south a couple miles to the Greenbank National
Observatory. There we were given a tour of the facilities and informed of
what is going on there and why Greenbank, WV was chosen as the site. Very
interesting. Afterwards, we headed on south to I-64 at White Sulphur Springs
where one of the couples headed west towards Beckley, WV. We continued on
south and rolled in at home about 4:30 PM. 476 miles.

Observations:
The GTS will handle a load. It's heavy but still no problem with two up and
loaded. I found that it turns to the left differently than the right. I
checked the front tire wear and that's the problem. From the crown of the
tire to the left is worn quite a bit more than from the crown to the right.
This is the way I got it and I assume that this is from riding an Interstate
or straight road a lot. Anyone else noticed this? The GTS averaged 50.87 mpg
but this I attributed to riding with my very slow buddies. By myself, I
think that will drop quite a bit. I need to jack up the rear spring some and
also need to bleed the clutch but other than that, the bike is fine.
